Teaching Aim:
To introduce some other usages of continuous tenses to students:
①to show repetitiveness of the speaker
②to show polite request.
③to talk about future arrangement
④to compare the usages (continuous tense and present tense)of state verbs
Exercise 1, 2 and 3 on page 16 can be used as warming-up exercise.
Stage 1 review of general use of continuous tense
①To describe an activity which is/was/will be going on at a certain moment(时刻) of present, past or future
②To describe an action which is/was/will be going on during a short period of time at present, in the past or in the future.
Stage 2 special sue
①“always/frequently/constantly/for ever, continually +doing” to show the repetitiveness of the speaker
②Past continuous for polite request
③present continuous for future arrangement
