Unit25 going global - Vocabulary and listening 教案 Teaching Aim: The part here introduces the topic of the whole unit----globalization. Students are asked to accumulate some words and phrases about globalization and to know its relating advantages and disadvantages. Stage 1 warm up Look at the pictures and use a few sentences to describe what the pictures are trying to convey. Here, teachers can introduce the sentence pattern ---- “This relates to the idea of globalization because …” Stage 2 word –building Read the sentences about examples of globalization in exercise 2 and guess the meaning of the underlined words. Teachers here can give as many examples as they can think of. Stage 3 phrase-building Tick out the consequences of globalization from exercise 3. Teacher can remind the students that they are asked to use these words and phrases in later discussion. Stage 4 Discussing read the statements a---j in resource bank, and ask students to summarize each statement with their own words. Then make a list of at least 5 advantages and 5 disadvantages of globalization. Stage 5 listening
