本片段主要是让学生了解四种源于美国的音乐形式，同时让学生欣赏一首著名的歌曲判断其属于哪种形式， 因为歌曲本身很短，于是又让学生填歌词，这样也练习了听力，学生们很感兴趣，课堂也很生动。
1. T: Most of you are keen on music. Which type of music do you know?
Students’ answers: rock music, folk music, light music, rap-hop, country music, classical music, jazz, blues……
2. T: This period we will learn several diefferent types of music born in America. They are Gospel music, Jazz, Soul music and blues. First read the passage and find their characteristics.
Students’ answers:
Gospel music:developed in the churses, strong and rhythmic , instruments are less important than voices.
Soul music: a mixture of blues ,gospel, and rock and roll
Jazz: improvisation and syncopation
Blues: using instruments, a single line repeated two or three times before changing
3. T: Ok, then we will listen to a song . Listen carefully and decide which type of music it is and try to explain why .
Students’ answer: Gospel music because it is sung in the church and its’ srong and rhythmic.
4. T: Good. In fact, it’s the them song of the film Sister Act (1992),which is very popular. Then we will listen to it again .Your task is to fill in the blanks.

本片段主要是口语练习，话题贴近学生的生活，但是教材上的问题很简单，在设计课的时候我采用了层层深入的办法来加深思考的宽度与难度，这样可以打开学生的思路，也给更多的学生提供口语训练的机会。
1.Read the slogans of the clubs. Which is the best slogan ,in your opinion?
2.Suppose our school has these clubs like these ,which club would you most like to join? Say why?
3. Now ,you have the chance to set up your own club .Wok in groups and think of the name and slogan of your club.
4. You have set up your club .Now you hope your classmates join it. Please make up a conversation in pairs in order to persuade him or her to join it.
5. Have you joined any club in our school? Do you think it is good for a senir high student to join a club? Why or why not?
