You may also go to the nearest hospital, especially if you require immediate attention. If you are seriously hurt and alone, call 911 and the operator there will get help for you.Don't be frightened if you're sent to the hospital. In the United States, people are often sent to hospitals so that doctors can use the special machines and services for tests and treatment.Unfortunately, the United States does not have a national system of health insurance to help pay medical bills.

Today, the paintings by Vincent van Gogh are world-famous and worth many millions of dollars but while he was alive, Vincent van Gogh sold only one painting. He was a lonely, unhappy man who suffered from mental illness, and he died at the early age of 37.
Vincent van Gogh was born in Holland in 1853. His first connection with paintings came in 1869, when he got a job in the Goupil Gallery. He worked for this art dealer in London and Paris for four years before he became a teacher in England for a short time. He moved back to France in 1877 and soon began to paint.
Gogh was influenced by the famous artists that he met in Paris, where he returned to live in 1886. He did not stay long in the French capital. There, he painted his most famous paintings, using strong brush strokes (画笔的笔触)and bright colours. Vincent van Gogh mainly painted landscapes, but he also produced portraits of local people, such as the doctor and the postman.
It was around this time that Vincent van Gogh began to show signs of mental illness. In 1889, following an argument with another artist, he cut off his own ear. For a time, he lived in a mental hospital in Saint Remy... In 1890, Vincent van Gogh moved to a town called Auvers. A teacher of the old school
My grandfather was a teacher. He was the headmaster of a school for boys between the ages of thirteen and eighteen. About a year ago, I went to stay at a Detroit hotel. I didn't want to carry too much money with me, so I asked the desk clerk to put a hundred-dollar bill in the safe for me.
The next morning, however, the clerk said he knew nothing about my money. I didn't have any proof that I had given the man the money. There was nothing I could do but go to the nearest lawyer.
The lawyer advised me to return to the hotel with him and give another hundred-dollar bill to the clerk. This I did. An hour later, I went back to the desk and asked for my money. Since I had the lawyer as an eyewitness to the second hundred-dollar bill, the clerk could not say he knew nothing about it.
Another hour later, I put the second part of the lawyer's plan into action. This time both the lawyer and I went to the hotel. I asked for the hundred-dollar bill once again, and when the clerk insisted he had already given it to me, I denied(否认)it. The lawyer said to him, “I saw this gentleman give you a hundred dollars. If you don't hand it over immediately, I'll be forced to call the police.”

There is an English saying: “__71__ ” Until recently, few people took the saying seriously. Now, however, doctors have begun to look into laughter and the effects it has on the human body.__72__

Dear Mrs. Winthorp,
So my first week at college is over! No lectures this morning so I think I'd email you and let you know what things are going.
I'm glad to say that anything has worked out fine in the dorm. I remembered asking for a room as far away from the lifts as possible and they find me a comfortable one on second floor. There are two girls from my course here and I plan to make friend with them so that we can help each other on the course work. Everyone else seems very nice and warmly here.
Well,I had better to stop now. I'm going to attend mine first lesson this afternoon, for I've got some preparation to make. Keep in touch.
Best,
Carol

Dear_Mr._and_Mrs._Smith,
How_time_flies! My time in the two-week winter camp seemed as if it happened yesterday.
I have already returned to China safe and sound. When I think of the wonderful two weeks I spent in Australia, I just can't help thinking of both of you and want to express my gratitude to you. It was so kind of you to have provided everything to make my stay such a happy and wonderful experience. I have learned quite a lot, not only of English but also of your culture. And I really enjoyed the fun and laughter we shared with each other. It was your hospitality and great help that made my journey fruitful and worthwhile. I will cherish the merry memories for the rest of my life. I hope we can keep in touch.
I wish you all the best!
Yours,
Li Ming
